Dorothy Elsie Knowles Perehudoff (1927 – , Canadian)

Born in Unity, Saskatchewan in 1927, Knowles Perehudoff is most notably known as a landscape artist. She has studied at the University of Saskatchewan, the Goldsmith School of Art in London (England), and the Banff Centre. She became a member of the Order of Canada in 2004 and a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. Two of her pieces were rendered as postages stamps in 2006. Windermere Lake is actually a widening of the Columbia River in British Columbia that averages only 15 feet in depth.
