This portable sewing machine was known as the “Singer Featherweight 221-1 Sewing Machine”. It was a portable electric sewing machine that could be folded up to fit into a locking travel case. Currently called the Singer Corporation, the company was founded by Isaac M. Singer in 1851 in New York City and continues to operate today.
