Bookends

Gift of Joan Boyd for Dorothy Boyce (Estate), Banff, 2016

The bookends were made for Dorothy Boyce at a friend’s (MacKinnon family’s Cranbrook Foundry Co.) iron foundry in Cranbrook. These metal National Park badges served as proof of admission payed to the Park and were manufactured in slightly different styles and from different metals from the mid-1920s to the early 1940s. Tags like these were attached to the car’s radiator, usually with wire.
